Used eccentric and hydraulic presses for sale.

Our list of used eccentric presses and hydraulic presses includes those with and without cushions and with various tonnages and daylight capacities. Also known as a machine press, these use either a mechanical (eccentric) or hydraulic method to form sheets of metal by compressing the sheet against a die. We sell our used metal forming presses in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia. View our available machines below.

All of our used machine tools are:

  • Multi-point checked by our fitters and electricians

  • Quality checked and/or refurbished and painted

  • Supplied with a 3 month guarantee (where applicable)

  • Can be supplied at your request with new wear and tear parts such as blades, vee dies and other tooling.

What is an eccentric or hydraulic press?

A forming press, commonly shortened to press, is a machine tool that changes the shape of a workpiece by the application of pressure. Presses can be classified according to:

Their mechanism: hydraulic, mechanical (eccentric), pneumatic;
Their function: forging presses, stamping presses, punch press, etc.
Their structure, e.g. Knuckle-joint press, screw press
Their controllability: conventional vs. servo-presses
Press machines are also the primary machine tool used in metal extrusion and sheet metal fabrication processes. Hydraulic and mechanical presses are employed during sheet metal forming. Hydraulic presses are a powerful class of machine tools, they derive the energy they deliver through hydraulic pressure. Mechanical presses encompass a wide range of different machine types. Primarily, the mechanical press transforms the rotational force of a motor into a force that performs the pressing action. Therefore, the energy in a mechanical press comes from a motor.
